The issue, however, was that the featured image does NOT appear as it should. I put another image in the socials section of the Yoast section of the page, where an image different from the featured image is put to show on a Facebook post. That image shows as the image in a link, not the featured image.

Hight and width of the image adjust auto, since you have not used the sidebar, the product list used the 100% width of the screen that’s why the product image on your site is quite bigger than on the demo site.

Once you activated the sidebar images will automatically reduce to a smaller size

Because the shop is the home page, I’ve set the featured image on the shop page, but it does not appear on a post, or in a link.

Regarding your query, you have to create a new post and assign a category to the posts. Then you select the number of slides from the featured type which will make the sliders display the posts you assign in the category. The post’s featured image will appear in the slider.
